academic edited photos

1. In this photo I follow Rule of Thirds and balance. 2.The subject in the picture is the boy studying. 3.I would say that it is not hard to figure out but there are different things that you could say are the subject of the picture. 4.I could have gotten a different angle where it clearly shows that the kid is the subject in the photo and not have everything in the background. 1. In this photo I use framing. 2. The subject of the picture is the front desk of the library. 3. No I wouldn't say it is very easy to identify the subject. 4. I could have gotten closer and taken a better picture. 1. In this picture I use Rule of Thirds. 2. The subject of the picture is the girl studying 3. Yes I would say it is very easy to identify the subject in the picture. 4. I could have gotten different angles of the girl.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

Image
A) Media managers struggle with the idea of "product validity" due to photoshop and other editing software. Professional photographers are no longer needed in order to take a newsworthy pictures. B) The photographers for the Washington post and New York times are given harsh guidelines on how to shoot and edit their pictures. C) I feel to change the small details like lighting and or color would be acceptable, but changing the over all meaning of the picture is wrong. D) I feel that this photo is the most unethical because they changed the meaning of the picture. I say this because this picture is a historical picture and need to be kept original. E) I feel that this photo is the least unethical. I say this because they didn't really change the photo the just manipulated the aspect ratio of the photo from a horizontal image to a vertical.

Avoiding Mergers (academic shoot)

Image
I think this photo shows avoiding mergers because the flag is the clear subject.

Framing (academic shoot)

Image
I think this picture shows framing because the library is being framed by the shelf above.

Rule of thirds (academic shoot)

Image
I think this picture shows rule of thirds because the girl in the photo follows the rules.

Simplicity (academic shoot)

Image
I think this picture shows simplicity because the picture is very simple.

Balance (academic shoot)

Image
I think the photo shown shows balance because the two people in the photo are doing almost the exact same think.

Lines (academic shoot)

Image
I think this photo represents lines because the lines of the selling lead to the subject in the picture.

John Gutmann          John Gutmann was born 1905 in Germany and died 1998. He was one of Americas most distinctive photographers. He first trained as a artist and a art teacher during his time in Germany. He then moved to San Francisco in 1933, and reinvented himself as a photo-journalist. Since he himself was considered a jew when he lived in Germany he then focused on the minority's in San Francisco. This includes Asian-Americans, African-Americans, and even the Gay community. He was one of the most diverse photographers in the americas. He was also teaching art regularly at San Francisco Collage.

Academic preview

The Story I think this is the best example for the best story, because it shows two students graduating, and that is a big part of a persons life. Action and Emotion I think this is the best picture for action and emotion because what she is doing looks pretty hard. Filling the Frame I thought this picture was very interesting because I wonder how they got this shot. My favorite Photo 1) I picked this photo because I thought the photo was pretty cool and interesting. 2) In the photo I can clearly see balance and avoiding mergers. 1) I might be able to take some good pictures in the library, and in maybe the elective building. 2) I would like to visit the band hall. 3) I will try to take as many photos as I can.

Avoiding Mergers

Image
I think this picture avoids mergers because you can clearly see what the focus is in the picture.

Framing

Image
I chose this for framing because the fire fighter climbing up the ladder is in the frame of a hole in the wall.

Balance

Image
I think this picture shows balance because the smoke on the building is almost in the same places and from a different angle it would show that.

Lines

Image
I chose this picture for lines because the lines in the picture create a weird effect.

Rule of Thirds

Image
I chose this for Rule of Thirds because the other building in the background follows the rule of thirds.

Simplicity

Image
I chose this for simplicity because this is a normal picture of the sky line, but after a major event.

Prompt Shoot

Image
Happy  In this picture this color is very bright so I  described it as happy. Bowie  In this picture I described it as Bowie because it says Bowie Baseball.   Square  In this picture I described it as square because  the pilers create a square. Metal  This picture is described as metal because the motorcycle is metal.

Camera

The Camera: 1. Explain what the "camera obscura" effect.  How is it achieved? The hole would act like a lens and project light on to the opposite wall up side down. 2. What invention during the 17th Century helped a man get a step closer to creating the modern camera? In the 17 Century Issac Newton and Christian Huygens perfected the art of optics and learned how to make a high quality glass lens. 3. What were the parts of the first modern camera made by Niepce?  The camera was made out of a glass lens, a dark box, and film. 4. What do modern digital cameras have in common with the Niepce's camera? Digital cameras and Niepce's camera is that a camera is still a camera. 5. What do digital cameras use to capture an image? Digital cameras use digital film to capture the picture. Camera Modes: 6.What is the difference between audio mode and program mode? In program you can control the flash. 7. What is the portrait mode used for? And how does it work? ...
