American Soldier

A. The most powerful image in the article is the picture where he says goodbye to his family. I think this is the most powerful image because it would be really hard for me to leave my family and it is the start of his actual time in the army. B. The pictures tell the story by going in chronological order threw all the important moments making him a developed soldier. C. The captions tell background information that you cant see in the picture. D. Ian started as a rookie and throughout his military experience he became stronger. He then quit shortly after he got married. E. When Ian is the main subject in the picture the caption is usually in present tense. F. The captions are usually 3-5 sentences. The first sentence usually is who what where when why and how in the picture. The second sentence is background information you don't get from the picture. The third sentence is usually something that someone said int he moment about the picture. Only some captions contain 4 s...

1.  In the reading the pictures where very detailed, and you could tell that the photos took time to take. I say this because even in one of the sentences he said that he had to wait 18 days to take only 4 pictures of a lion. You can tell that he is very dedicated to what e loves to do and that he has no problem waiting as long as he needs to, to get the perfect picture. 2. 3. In the photo I chose A elephant has dust coming off of him on one side of his body, and it looks like the elephant is walk right at the person taking the picture. This picture is my favorite because it makes the elephant look like it is walking right at you and not stopping. 4. In the photo I picked it shows avoiding mergers. In avoiding mergers the subject in the picture has to be obvious. 5.  He uses a telephoto lens because he likes the amount of ski and landscape he can see when using it. 6. He loves finding the animals in these settings. 7. His hope is to ke...

Great Black and White Photographers part 3

Image
1)  When I looked at John Guttman's photo of someone getting into a car I thought it was cool. When I found him in the list that was given when we first did the Great Black and White photographers assignment his photos where the only interesting ones. 2)   I see someone falling       I smell the air       I hear the person landing       I taste the cold crisp air       I feel the ground that he is going to land on           I see a building of some sort       I smell sand       I hear the wind blowing       I taste the hot air       I feel the building it the picture

Academic Shoot reflection and critique

1. The challenges that i encountered when I was taking pictures where finding rooms that had something to do with academics and finding academics in the hall. 2. What I focused on the most was getting the subject of the picture in the frame of the camera. A specific example was getting the photo of the boy in the library studying I took that picture multiple times to get him perfectly in the frame of the picture. 3. I would take more pictures because I feel that I could have taken more. And I would have gone into more classrooms. 4. I was doing good at the act of searching for photos. 5. I think the easiest rule to achieve is Avoiding Mergers. 6. I think the rule that is the hardest to capture is Framing. 7. I would say the only rule I am not completely clear on is Framing because it is hard to find in the school setting.

Angelo.

   1) In the beginning I thought its was just a husband taking pictures of his wife, but as I got closer to the end I realized what was really going on.  The pictures made me a little sad because I feel sorry for the guy.    2) I think that this quote means that whatever is going on with someone it doesn't define them as a person.    3) I think I could take pictures like this because it shows a good message.    4) I would tell him that I feel bad for him and that he showed people a good message.
